Leadership Development Center
We invite you to come to Moolmanshoek, experience its magic and be part of its future. Our campsite, situated 2 km from the Moolmanshoek Lodge is the base for the LDC and the hiking trails, with three types of accommodation for groups. The “Skeerhokke” can accommodate up to 100 persons in two large dormitories. The Hikers Hut can accommodate 16 hikers or other persons, while there also are 9 double rooms, four of them with their own bathrooms.
We believe that every life experience contributes to personal development and growth. With this belief in mind our programmes are crafted in such a way to equip our visitors to be more influential and mature leaders.
Program Paths
At the core of Moolmanshoek LDC is a passion to equip leaders. For nearly two decades, we have discovered a niche for LDC as we began to work more and more with leadership groups from both Primary and High Schools.
Our camps have a firm Biblical foundation and from this base, we aim to transfer values that we believe empower and enable young leaders to be positive role models in their individual spheres of influence. With your help, we individually tailor each camp specifically for the group that is coming. No two camps are ever exactly alike and each camp is created with careful consideration and preparation for those attending.
Youth Camps
Our Youth Camps include Veldskool , Boys Camps, Hiking Camps, Values-Do-Matter Camps, Outdoor Educational Camps, Leadership Camps, Grade 8 Camps.

Men & Women’s Camps
Our adult camps are aimed at giving adult men and woman the chance to experience the great outdoors whilst fellowshipping around themes that draws out ones heart. Here at Moolmanshoek LDC, we are certainly passionate about the youth, but we are also just as passionate about reaching men and women. We have several options for adults who wish to gain knowledge and a fresh outlook on life through the camps we offer. For men, we offer camps presenting “The World Needs a Father” material. This is a ministry that we at Moolmanshoek are incredibly passionate about and see a need for fathers to rise up in our world today. For men interested, we offer three different levels of training. We offer “Dad’s Talks”, Fatherhood facilitator, and we help with Master Mentor training.
We also offer Wild at Heart camps, where we rediscover the heart of men and the privilege of responsibility. These camps are offered for groups of 12 men at a time to best facilitate the deep level of learning and understanding needed for these topics. We have found that men who come with the intention to grow, leave Moolmanshoek LDC changed. For women, we offer Mother’s Design camps. It is here that we discover together the God-given design for motherhood and the impact it has on our husbands, children and world.
Adult Retreats
We host retreats for adults during the Winter months. We annually try to host up to four marriage weekends. Our main aim is to help husbands and wives rediscover the glory or their marriage and union.
As a rule, we host a weekend in June, July, August and late October or early November. Most of these weekends are more seminar type weekends and we finish the year with our Romance weekend. We make use of the facilities at our Moolmanshoek Lodge for our marriage retreats.

The Hikers Hut
DESCRIPTION – Three rooms plus Livingroom. Separate Ablution block, kitchen and lapa area.
LINEN – Provide own linen.
KITCHEN & LAPA – Basic kitchen utensils supplied.
Center Rooms
There are 9 center rooms
DESCRIPTION – All center rooms have two single beds and some have on-suite facilities.
MEALS – Meals can be arranged for groups.
OLIVE LAPA – Available for guests in the rooms and campers
LINEN – Linen, Blanket, Duvet & Towels.
CAMP KITCHEN – Since the centre rooms are not self-catering visitors will have to rent and make use of our fully equipped camp kitchen

Camping
We are not a formal camping site. We make the lawns of our Leadership development centre available to campers.
Here you will find ample space to find your own camping spot with electrical power plug-in points available. You will also find shade in some areas, braai areas and Lapa’s as well as shared ablution blocks.
Please note that we are not caravan friendly. Off-road caravans have no problems travelling to us.
As stewards of this beautiful land, we commit ourselves to sound management of both the natural and cultural resources, as well as the creation of enjoyable and enlightening experiences for our guests. Recognizing the important role that we as conservation oriented reserve owners have to play in redressing past imbalances, we also commit ourselves to meaningful development and empowerment projects within our surrounding community. Our guests play a significant part in our dream to create a model of integrated land management, incorporating international and local travellers and rural people, demonstrating that eco-tourism can be used on a sustainable basis to the mutual benefit of all.

Moolmanshoek LDC se fasiliteite was so amazing om die Journey Kamp te ontvang. Die variteit van aktiwiteite, die prag van die omgewing, die slaap en eet fasiliteite kon in my opinie nie ‘n beter platvorm wees vir ‘n pa en seun kamp nie. Die Here het voorwaar Moolmanshoek as ‘n kataliseerder gebruik vir die verandering van harte en lewens! Ek kan nie dink daar is nog ‘n terrein in dieselfde radius vanaf Gauteng wat hierdie ongelooflike ervaring op so ‘n unike manier bied nie.So dankie aan Niklaas en sy diensspan. The first rugby team of Grey College visited Moolmanshoek LDC (MMH-LDC) at the start of the rugby season for a team building weekend. Niklaas, Isabelle and the whole team of MMH-LDC went out of there way to make it a really pleasant and worthwhile experience. That camp was one of the main contributors to the success the team had in 2018. The food, accommodation, and activities were of a very high standard. I will unconditionally recommend MMH-LDC for a school camp, team building or even a staff camp.
For the past three years, we have been taking our prefects to Moolmanshoek Leadership Development Centre. As one of the oldest schools in the Free State, we are very aware of our ethos of tradition inspired learning. The values we hold so dearly have to be mirrored by any institution or individual who works with our boys. Niklaas and his wife Isabel, who run the programme, have empowered our boys to be leaders in the true sense of the word by exposing them to activities and engaging them with thought-provoking discussions. Unlike so many leadership courses, the focus is not on lecturing them about leadership. What differentiates Moolmanshoek, is the strong focus on character building. In an absolutely breathtaking setting, the timeless values we have so painstakingly inculcated in our boys over so many years, are reinforced. There are many fun activities which force the boys to overcome their fears, discover their weaknesses and strengths and bond as a group. The boys and the staff are well taken care of and the food is both plentiful and really delicious.
Dankie Niklaas en Bella vir ‘n onvergeetlike belewenis. Dit was ‘n voorreg vir my en Juan om op Moolmanshoek te wees en waarlik geestelik te groei saam met kinders van die Here. Dit is werlik ‘n spesiale plek waar God se teenwoordigheid gevoel kan word en waar Hy Sy kinders slyp vir hulle roeping in Sy koninkryk. Ons sal ons tyd daar nooit vergeet nie en julle sal ons verseker weer sien.

Sjoe…Alhoewel ek uiteraard nog besig is om alles te verwerk, kan ek wel die volgende se:Ek was die hele naweek SO sterk bewus van God se Teenwoordigheid en Sy Groot Werke: in die mooi landskap, die pragtige geriewe, die heerlike kos, die vriendelike personeel, jou kinders se oe, jou eie sagte stem en treffende getuienis, die manne van die Kaap se deernis, ons pa’s se harte wat oorloop, ons seuns se krag wat voor ons oe transformeer, my vrees op die hindernes baan en seer spiere daarna, die wind deur die populiere Saterdagnag in die veld; my vol, VOL hart… Dankie vir alles!
